Research Paper Quick Check

Startling and informative opening

Opening: A poll taken in 1966 said that 80% of Americans didn’t believe that the JFK Assassination was solved. This is probably because many eyewitnesses changed their stories because people threatened many of them with bodily harm. My research tells me that JFK wasn’t killed by Oswald but it was a big conspiracy that could have involved the CIA.
Quick summary of main question that I mean to answer or reason I think this topic is important

Summary: Oswald was a scapegoat and wasn’t the on who killed JFK. It was a big cover up and the government needed someone to blame when one of the worst days in United State’s history occurred.
Two or three most interesting things I learned from research

Interesting Things: Oswald shot his rifle three times in 1.6 seconds. A Professional marksman could only shoot the same type of rifle twice in 2.5 seconds without aiming. Jack Ruby killed Oswald on live television. Then he claimed that he did it to relive the sorrows from Mrs. Kennedy.
Confirmation or rejection of one or two commonly held beliefs about this topic
Beliefs: A commonly held believed that the CIA planned the Assassination of JFK. This is possible because he did anger the military, FBI, and CIA. He also almost had the CIA destroyed. So this might have been planned by the CIA but carried out by people in the mob. This is because Jack Ruby was in the mob and might have killed Oswald to cover up their tracks.
Something to connect the topic to the reader's life so that he/she will care
Connection to the Reader: This would be like someone assassinating President Obama. This just happened in an era when they didn’t know what to do if this happened. They also were so confused and disorganized that they might have gotten an innocent man killed. They were also corrupt because they were going to people houses and threatening them. So these people got scared and they changed their stories. This convinced the public at first that Lee Harvey Oswald had killed President Kennedy.
A closing surprise...intriguing fact, quotation, or discovery from my own research
Quote: “If I had to pick on man in the whole United States to shoot me. I’d pick Oswald. I saw that man shoot, and there’s no way he could have ever learned to shoot well enough to do what they accused him of.” A quote form “The Assassination of President Kennedy” written by Jeffery Waggoner.
